Lean construction methodologies were implemented through the prefabrication of in-wall assemblies, and approximately 50% of this project was prefabricated in order to reduce waste and drive efficiency, including virtually all in-wall piping. The plumbing fabrication shop designed and created chases/plumbing for all wall-hung fixtures. An enormous amount of coordination took place between the University, security, contractors, traffic officials and other campus agencies to make this project successful. Construction began on December 1, 2015 and was completed on August 17, 2016, in time for the first home football game. This expansion and renovation project increased stadium capacity from 60,580 to now 64,038.
