Engineering, Fabrication, and Installation for Vinyl Floor Manufacturer
Ivey Mechanical completed a new state of the art cushion vinyl floor manufacturing facility for Beauflor USA located in Cartersville-Bartow County, Georgia.
“Project Race” consists of a 309,000 SF manufacturing building and a 221,000 SF warehouse. Through the initial VE process, Ivey was able to re-engineer the systems and realize over a 25% savings to the owner.
In addition to the plumbing and HVAC systems for the facility, Ivey furnished and installed key process utilities including process cooling water systems and high temperature hot oil recirculating systems. The hot oil system contained over 800 welds. Each weld had to be ASME B31.3 X-ray quality. In addition to construction services Ivey also provided pipe stress analysis and piping design for the hot oil systems.
This facility produces cushion vinyl with a capacity of 40 million square meters per year. Paul Vonderharr is the Project Manager and Kenny Jeffcoat is the lead Project Superintendent. The project stayed on schedule through over 125 mechanical change orders and Ivey helped to ensure the owner was able to commission their equipment per the original schedule. All of Ivey field and shop welders on this project received special training on X-ray weld procedures to ensure there were minimal issues encountered in the process.
