Replacing the Commissary and Exchange Mall

In August 2006, Hurricane Katrina struck and destroyed the commissary and Army Air Force Exchange Service store at Keesler Air Force Base. This project consisted of the construction of a new Commissary and Exchange Mall for the base totaling 285,000 square feet.The new commissary, with 24 checkouts, has more than 50,000 square feet of sales area, triple the size of the temporary commissary. The new buildings will serve the people stationed on Keesler Air Force Base as well as the retired veterans in the area.
