A New Middle School & Cafeteria for MRA

The MRA New Middle School and Cafeteria located in Madison, Mississippi included 32,000 square feet of space made up of 22 classrooms, three STEM (science, technology, engineering and math) labs, a computer science lab, a choral music room, visual arts room, technology center, guided studies room and a student services suite.  The new MRA dining commons are approximately 10,000 square feet and will serve students in kindergarten through 12th grade. The facility offers a larger serving area, dining space, and additional food choices for students.

The project provided a unique HVAC and plumbing design featuring a Variable Refrigerant Flow System, or VRF System.  Mechanical equipment on this project included, but is not limited to; 5 air handling units, 4 Ductless Split Systems, a kitchen hood with a makeup air unit and a VRF System.  The VRF System included 3 rooftop condensing units and 32 ceiling cassettes, all controlled by a three pipe variable system. Construction was completed, on schedule in just over 13 months.
