Ivey Mechanical’s Commitment To Training

The construction industry is currently facing a critical shortage in skilled labor and at Ivey Mechanical we are taking steps to combat the issue at hand. We want to ensure that the future of our workforce is a bright one. Current Ivey employees have the opportunity to take advantage of multiple apprenticeship programs, as well as numerous management and safety trainings throughout the year. In 2018 alone, over 50 employees completed one or more of our eight NCCER curriculum based apprenticeship programs and over 175 employees attended one of six management or safety trainings. “In today’s world where our craft professionals are getting older and the pressure increases from other industries to hire those available in the workforce, it is critical that we offer craft training. People today want to know what they need to do to succeed and craft training helps them in the effort,” said Danny Brunt, VP of Human Resources. We will continue our commitment to attract and train a strong workforce through internal programs in addition to our extended partnerships with local communities, colleges, and other external craft programs.
