HVAC Systems for MDA Office Building
The Von Braun Center Complex Phase II project consisted of a 5-story, 231,000 square foot office building and an expansion to the existing central plant.
Ivey and its subcontractors were responsible for the installation of the building’s HVAC system which consists of a four pipe chilled water/heating water system which serves multiple air handlers and numerous variable air volume boxes. The central plant expansion includes one new 1,050 ton water cooled chiller, one 50 ton emergency back-up air cooled chiller, one cooling tower, two hot water boilers and associated pumps.
Ivey was honored with the Safe Contractor of the Year award from the Army Corps of Engineers, Mobile District Celebrate Safety program in November 2006, in recognition of more than 58,000 man hours worked by Ivey and its subcontractors with no lost-time accidents.
