One of the Army’s Largest Fitness Centers

The new, 100,000 square foot fitness center includes a natatorium, locker rooms, whirlpool, and sauna area; rock climbing room, exercise rooms, physical therapy space, storage spaces, swimming pools, basketball, racquetball and volleyball courts, and brand new exercise equipment.

The facility is considered to be one of the largest of its kind in the Army. This project required some unique construction challenges.

Systems Installed

• Plumbing rough-in encased in block wall construction
• 1,450 feet of collapsible fabric duct for the HVAC system installed in the large open exercise areas
• Pool dehumification unit installed to control humidity in the pool area and heat the water
• Ivey co-workers completed more than 30,000 manhours with no recordable incidents
