Protecting Important Patient Data

Ivey Mechanical Company was proud to partner with Community Health Systems, Power Management, and Brasfield & Gorrie to expand the Birmingham Data Center for this growing company. The facility is used to store patient information and medical records for the hospitals owned in Alabama.  It is also used as a back up to the main Data Center located in Nashville, Tennessee, which serves over 140 hospitals nationwide. The building is constructed using precast concrete panels and concrete roof allowing the facility to withstand up to 200 mph winds. The current building was built to allow for expansion of data center equipment and HVAC equipment as needed. The site will also allow for future building expansion. Ivey’s involvement with this project included expanding the HVAC redundant systems that cool the data and office areas. These areas are manned 24/7.
