Mechanical Systems for the Latest Laboratories

Ivey Mechanical’s contract included installing the plumbing and HVAC for HudsonAlpha Institute for Biotechnology – a four-story 269,000 square foot facility. Because the facility is a laboratory, the duct system must supply and exhaust the correct volume of air to the various rooms to ensure proper room pressurization.

The duct work in the building starts in the penthouses and feeds down through the four floors through a centrally located duct chase, where it branches off and spans the floors.
